The Finnish band Graydance is currently working on their highly anticipated fourth album. In May 2025, the group recorded four new songs, including the first single, Drone Zone, which was recently launched.
The bass player, Ipi Kiiskinen, claims that though the songs are very different, they all work well together: “In my opinion, all of them are absolutely excellent songs, which will be included in our gig sets.”
Graydance was founded in 1997 in Lohja. Their music is influenced by progressive, rock, and grunge styles with a sound that ranges from dreamy ballads to powerful rock songs. After performing covers of songs by their favorite bands, including Stone Temple Pilots, Screaming Trees, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, Radiohead, and Life of Agony, the band discovered they had the passion and desire to make their own songs.
Alongside their full-length albums, Graydance have released several EPs, starting with Bruised (2000) and spanning decades of evolving sound, including Beautiful (2001), Drowning (2002), Aubades After Dark (2003), Choose Any Road (2003), Like A May Morning (2004) Care Less, Hurt Less (2005) and Away From This Moment (2012). Their discography reveals a band that consistently explores new artistic avenues while remaining loyal to its roots.
Having performed widely around southern Finland and performed for audiences abroad in Germany and Hungary, the band’s enthusiasm is not limited to the studio. The band’s artistic expression has been further enhanced by the release of multiple music videos.
Now, almost three decades into their journey, with a seasoned lineup, a wealth of experience, and an ever-growing passion for music, Graydance is currently crafting its highly anticipated fourth full-length album.
