Gothic rock band The Awakening, shared the new song, Mirror Midnight, as the first single from the upcoming album. The song was written by singer and composer, Ashton Nyte. The Awakening’s self-titled record will be released on the 18th of October.
Ashton Nyte: “The album is a magical celebration of our gothic/darkwave roots and is available, along with limited edition options, vinyl, CD, merchandise, and other oddities. This is The Awakening’s 12th album and features 12 new original works.”
In addition to a new album, Ashton announced the European tour:
“I am so excited to be touring the UK + EU again! Thank you to Schecter Guitars and Songs Of Preys. Tickets are on sale now. This tour will feature songs from my work as The Awakening, solo work, and collaborative adventures. In light of recent announcements, there will also be songs from The Awakening’s upcoming album, and my most recent work with Beauty In Chaos.”

The Awakening is a South African gothic rock band founded in Johannesburg in 1995 by vocalist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Ashton Nyte.
The sound has been described as a blend of gothic rock, darkwave, gothic metal, industrial rock, and new wave, which Nyte vaguely described in 1999 as “dark future rock.” The Awakening has released eleven studio albums, numerous singles, EPs, and two Greatest Hits compilations. As of 2009, The Awakening has been based in the United States.
